Please use this guide to update the firmware for the controllers on your site. Please note that the download link will need to be provided by Semieta/AccessIT Data as we will need to check compatibility with the version of Semieta you are currently running.
1. Click on the download link you've been sent and download the small .bin file. Save it in an easily accessible location.
2. Browse to the file pathway 'C:\ProgramData\AccessITData\Firmware Updater' on the machine that has the installation of Semieta present. Note - Program Data is a hidden folder and may need to be unhidden to view.
3. Click on the application 'SCDfw2' to run. The following window should open:
4. Click on the Filename folder link to browse to the location of the firmware .bin file and select:
Note - this may look different to the above, especially the file name as the version number of the firmware is within the file name.
5. Click on the controllers that you wish to update and they will highlight in blue. You will need to use the SHIFT button on your keyboard to select multiple controllers.
6. If you have more controllers present than can fit in the 'Available Controllers' window, use the filter to search for and select the ones you wish to update.
7. Check or uncheck the boxes 'Show LT-20 controllers' and 'Show inactive controllers' for different views (neither of these controllers can be updated with new firmware).
8. Check the box saying 'Show log' if you wish to view the detailed log view of the results later.
9. Click on 'Start uploading firmware' in the bottom-left hand corner. An information popup will then appear (below) - click 'OK' to continue.
10. Once the firmware has been updated successfully, the 'F/W Update Status' column should be green for the controller line that was clicked on and it should say 'UPDATED' also (see below). If the colour is orange or red, then the firmware has not been updated and you will need to check the log to see why.
11. When you have finished, click on 'Close' to exit the application.
12. In the Semieta application, you will now need to send all the updated information to the controllers. To do this, you will need to go to the 'Access Control' tab, click on 'Controllers' and from there you should see a list of all the controllers on the system. See below:
You can select or deselect any of the various controllers by clicking on them and pressing the 'Shift' button on your keyboard.
13. Once the controllers you need have been highlighted, please click the top row of command buttons to the controller from left to right in that order, starting with 'Format Controller RAM' and finishing with 'Replace All Groups/Cards'. This will then send all the relevant information to the controllers in order (different popups might appear and disappear with progress bars in them).
14. Once complete, you can close the 'Manage Controllers' window.
If you have any issues with anything above, please contact AccessIT Data for support.
